Understanding your

Digital Instrument Certificate

What is a Digital Instrument Certificate?

In today’s fast-paced trade finance landscape, real-time visibility and accurate record-keeping are critical to ensuring seamless operations and reducing risks. Komgo’s new Digital Instrument Certificate provides transparency to all transaction stakeholders with real-time access to the data and status of Issued Bank Guarantees, Import Letters of Credit (LCs), and Import Standby Letters of Credit (SBLCs), allowing participants to make informed decisions quickly and confidently.

A Digital Instrument Certificate is linked to a financial instrument and consolidates all key information, including its latest status updates. This feature, available between Konsole and @GlobalTrade, ensures stakeholders have access to accurate, real-time data, eliminating delays and inaccuracies while providing a reliable and verified source of truth.

How Does It Work?

Creating a certificate (Powered by Trakk)

Upon issuance of an instrument using Komgo’s solutions, a Digital Instrument Certificate is automatically generated and securely registered on Trakk, a level 2 eIDAS* signature solution. This certificate can be shared as a PDF, and its authenticity can be easily verified through any Trakk widget, such as the one available at https://www.komgo.io/info/verification.

Sharing a certificate with any party

The certificate can be easily shared via email with beneficiaries or any other relevant parties. This empowers recipients with real-time, direct access to the information they need, exactly when they need it.

Accessing the information of the Digital Instrument Certificate

Each certificate includes a QR code and a link, allowing users to access a live preview screen with the most up-to-date key information. This ensures that all stakeholders with the certificate can retrieve the latest details without the need to log in or perform complex verifications.

*eIDAS ensures that each form of electronic signature is admissible as evidence in EU courts and shall not be denied legal effect solely because it is in electronic form.
